As we continue our efforts to support vulnerable communities in Africa, we are honored to partner with the Brazilian social solidarity association Obra de Maria.

Thanks to Obra de Maria’s logistical expertise and deep connections within the local communities, we were able to distribute hundreds of meals in a matter of days.

Collaborating with Obra de Maria to Change Lives
The changes in Semeadores de Maratane.
And after a lot of hard work and dedication, we will continue with the mission, helping families and children in Mozambique, Africa (Maratane Camp), and in Rodolfo Fernandes in Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil.
To keep you informed of the events, here is a brief summary:
Missionary Sumaili moved to Malawi, East Africa, and we were left without a representative to assist us in the Maratane field.
As a result, the founder Marcelo considered ending the activities of Semeadores de Maratane in Africa and Brazil.
In conversation with him, I, “Maria de Fátima,” decided to take over the leadership of this mission, and with the support of the core team, all responsibilities of Semeadores de Maratane were transferred to me.
So, the first thing I needed to resolve was to find another missionary to take on the missions in Africa.
I contacted Ironi Spuldaro’s wife, Cléia, and Ironi recommended Missionary Josiene from Obra de Maria, who promptly agreed to help us find a representative in the Maratane field.
She visited the refugee camp in Maratane and was warmly received at São Francisco Xavier Parish in Nampula by Father Pinho, who accepted our mission with open arms.
Today, we continue with the initial goal of providing food to families and conducting a monthly feeding project for the refugee camp children.
However, we have plans, and for them to come to fruition, we need to continue relying on the support of our donors and also seek more donations to help with the existing projects of Obra de Maria and São Francisco Xavier Parish, which include:
- Providing school meals at the school in Dombi and at the Obra de Maria boarding school.
- Distributing porridge to malnourished children at the refugee camp hospital in Maratane.
First and foremost, thanks to God, and to all of you who help us: godparents, donors, and the core team of Semeadores de Maratane, Sister Josiene, Shirnenio from Obra de Maria, and Father Pinho. Thank you very much.
